My Story, My Song: A Workshop in creativity through songwriting
Mastering the art of songwriting is a lengthy process that requires lots of work - but planting the seeds of inspiration takes only a few moments. Through the use of melody improvisation and group story sharing "My Story, My Song" does just that. Songwriter Keith Torgan introduces young people to the joy of self expression through song writing. Participants will be taught song form, improvisation of melody, and how to create subject matter through simple journal writing. This is a very affirming experience that enhances each participant’s ability to create something shareable, get them in touch with who they are and show them that their creativity is of value.
